Florida State 34 Virginia 14

Sorry everyone for the lower number of blogs this weekend. I was out of town just like the 'Noles over the weekend. FSU played very well on both sides of the ball and the score was actually a lot closer than it really could have been. Most people expected a Seminoles' victory, but many thought it would have been much closer. The strong performance was due in most part to the play of Ponder and Thomas on offense; As well as another great defensive performance by FSU, led by 2 interceptions by Greg Reid. Florida State led 27-0 at halftime. However, Virginia was able to put a few good plays together in the second half and outscore the 'Noles 14-7.

The victory gives the Seminoles a 4-1 record, 2-0 in ACC play. The win was also good enough to give FSU a #23 ranking in the AP poll and sets up a great matchup in Miami next weekend against the #13 Hurricanes. I'll have more posts reflecting the victory in Virginia as well as previews of the rivalry game between FSU and Miami. Stay posted!
